If the big end goes on an engine on a motorcycle if you replace the engine, will it work again?

well I wont go in to the rights and wrongs of what the big end is but I have heard it referred to as the big end many times. Maybe its an across the pond difference, but either way you should be able to get a service exchange crank. But make sure you find out why there was starvation to the bearings, was it just lack of oil or something blocking the oil lines. I have experienced similar when i ran out of 2stroke oil which was also used to directly feed the crank end bearings.
