Is it possible to pass grades when im going to start in the middle of the year?

I havent been in school until now im going to start this week. im in 7th grade is it possible for me to pass to 8th grade? im really worried i was in another country and my parents didnt care for my education. im really depressed because i just cant imagine another year back. i got kickback in 2nd and i now have to live with students and friends 1 year younger. if i fail can i go to summer school?
