Can't figure out what to make for dinner?

im visiting with my dad, and i think he starves on his own. he hates grocery shopping, and naturally im circling the kitchen trying to plan dinner. any ideas for meals that use items everyone, even my dad, would have at their house? thanks, you may just save us from death to starvation!
